RACHEL TAN

Rachel Tan, an active consultant at MECA since January 2018, is a versatile professional with a background in Marketing & Business Development, complemented by her extensive legal experience.

A graduate with honors from the University of London with a Bachelor of Laws, Rachel completed her Certificate of Legal Practice in 2011 and was admitted to the High Court of Malaya as an Advocate & Solicitor in 2015. As a civil litigator, she has excelled in diverse legal realms, including Family Law, Construction Law, Insurance Law, Medical Negligence. Presently, she actively advises on Employment Law and Industrial Relations matters to all MECA members and clients.

Fluent in English, Bahasa Malaysia, Mandarin, Cantonese, and Hokkien, Rachel possesses a basic proficiency in Sign Language. In addition to her sound legal expertise, she is distinguished by her skills in training.Her professional repertoire extends beyond legal practice, as she is a certified HRDF trainer with a focus on Industrial Relations training, courses and workshops. Rachel has a proven track record of effectively imparting knowledge and facilitating learning experiences. Since joining MECA, Rachel has conducted over 200 trainings relating to Industrial Relations and employment law courses.

In her free time, Rachel is deeply committed to the welfare of women and children. Her proactive involvement includes dedicating her free time to women crisis center. Rachel seamlessly integrates legal acumen with a dedication to training and community engagement, embodying a holistic approach to professional and social responsibility.
