BIOGRAPHY

Gayathri Sivananthan is a consultant with diverse experience and heightened commercial awareness. She has the ability of critically evaluating problems and aims at effectively providing tangible and results-oriented solutions to various corporate sectors .

Gayathri possesses a refined skill set in drafting and reviewing legal documents, honed through her affiliations with esteemed organizations like Lexis Nexis, Maybank, and LAW Partnership. In addition to her professional experience, Gayathri has been a private legal tutor since the age of 20. She has also authored numerous articles covering intellectual property, financial technology, as well as labor and industrial relations.

Holding a Bachelor of Laws from the University of London, Gayathri is presently pursuing her Certificate in Legal Practice (CLP) and a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on Entrepreneurship and Innovation, also from the University of London.

With nearly two years of dedicated service at MECA as a Consultant as well as the Editorial associate, Gayathri has accumulated extensive expertise in providing guidance to clients on a wide range of employment law matters. Her areas of proficiency include compliance, terms and conditions of service, handbook drafting, and disciplinary issues. Beyond her legal prowess, she advocates strongly for work-life balance and the implementation of sustainable employee relations/industrial relations policies in the workplace. As a seasoned trainer and speaker, Gayathri dedicates an average of over 100 hours annually to training and speaking engagements on topics related to employment law.

Notable Transaction
During her duration at MECA, Gayathri has been instrumental in overseeing noteworthy consulting transactions, which include:

• Compiling all annual client materials, such as Circulars, Industrial Relations (IR) updates, Newsletters, and Articles for MECA’s Editorial Department.

• Strategically curating and refining all training materials for MECA’s in-house training services.

• Formulating, updating, and effectively implementing Handbook Policies.

• Drafting collective agreements and offering guidance on the collective bargaining process for one of Malaysia’s preeminent Automotive Parts Manufacturers.
